Number one reason to visit Austin's Steakhouse on 5th Ave. and 89th Street in Brooklyn is......the amazingly delicious and generous portions for the price! We had two beers, shrimp cocktail and two enormous T-bone steak entrees with homemade garlic mashed potatoes and spinach for $90!!
My boyfriend and I visited the restaurant this past Thursday with a mean craving for steak and we were not disappointed. We started out out meal with a couple of beers. (I kept it uber-basic with bud light) They do have an array of beers on tap though. We then shared a appetizer of jumbo shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce had just enough kick and tasted very homemade.
For the main event we both ordered the same entree, the T-bone steak. This is very atypical for us since we usually to the "you order this, I'll order that and share" technique.
Michael ordered his steak medium with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. I ordered my T-bone steak rare with the same side. Both steaks were served on a scrumptious bed of sauteed spinach and were cooked perfectly. His steak was exactly medium and mine was the most delicious of rare steaks.
Michael and I will definitely be back to Austin's Steakhouse again in the very near future!
